Plays and sounds great, but has a few issues. There's a small hole in the lower bout near the bottom strap button. There's some wood splintered from the inside of the slotted headstock. There's wear in the fretboard in 1st position. Frets also have some wear, but life left. Other than that, the neck is straight, truss turns, action is good. New D'Addarios. Tuned to Eb standard. Serial 31225, final assembly on December 25, 1973. This Yamaha FG580, made in Japan, is a high quality guitar. Beautiful and historic 1967-1972 made in Japan Yamaha hollowbody electric guitar. Top of the range SA-50 model (others were SA-30 and SA-20). Upmarket fretboard and headstock inlays. Sounds great and has low action. NEEDS A SERVICE AS NECK PICKUP HAS LOST CONTACT. Currently only the bridge pickup is working. Seems to just be a loose wire. No major damage or severe fret-wear.
Overall very pretty, with the cosmetic flaws of a relic. Missing vibrato bar.... more
