This Silvertone is like one of those urban myths you hear but it??s real. It sat unopened and unplayed since it was bought decades ago. I got it from the original owners son, who told me that is what happened. Due to the strings being on it all that time, we had to reset the neck. This is a GOOD and NECESSARY thing. Silvertone 1420 made by Harmony Stratotone model pickup riser for two pickup guitar from the early 1960s. It's wood, possibly rosewood. These were on both the Silvertone and Harmony branded Stratone model guitars. So it should fit a variety of projects.

I think this is s64h and I show a photo of that. Sort of hard to tell for sure.
This has a good ding / hole on back with missing wood. It feels fairly intact. Strings are not hight at the nut but as you move towards 12th fret the do get higher. I have it tuned open tuning for slide.

I had to part out a Silvertone 1413L a while back because it was missing one knob, original tuners and pickup and this is the last part left. Shows signs of aging and some usage. These are impossible to find. I tried for a while to gather the correct parts and didn't have any luck. Hopefully this will help someone finish their project.... more

Silvertone Teisco Hofner-style Beatle bass guitar pickguard from the late 1960s. The sale includes the 3-ply (white / black / white) pickguard and the thumb rest with the bolts holding it to the pickguard. There's some gunk on the pickguard. We have not tried to clean it off but assume that's possible

Here we have a vintage Silvertone or Danelectro 2- bottom Amplifier Footswitch. Made in the 1960's. The foot switch has a button for Tremolo and one for Reverb. Very cool amp with 2 channels and master reverb and tremolo. Despite being solid state this things is pretty loud. It is an example of early Transitor high power with large OT (output transistors) that really surprises you with sound that gets right down to it. The DeArmond ??hershey bar?? pickups have a very neat dynamic unlike many other pickups. They??re darker than the typical single coil, but are still capable of a tele-like twang in the bridge position. Good for blues, I think

One of the most playable examples of these old MIJ guitars I've had my hands on. Low action all the way up the fretboard. Neck is straight (not 100% perfect, but really good for its age), frets are excellent, electronics are clean. New D'Addario 10s. Plenty of expected cosmetic wear throughout. Dings and scratches. Ive owned this for about 25 years and been happy with it, it looks, plays and sounds great. It originally had a straight piece of wood bridge (included) not attached about two inches down from where it should be, played and sounded terrible. The one flaw in an otherwise great guitar. I installed a nice Schaller bridge in the correct spot and now its awesome. Can adjust intonation too. One knob is missing as in pictures.... more

The poor man's Deluxe? Not really! The Silvertone is a budget 15 watt amp, built by Danelectro for Sears to sell through their catalogues. They feature a lightweight case of MDF-type material, no chassis to speak of, point-to-point wiring, and a puny looking 12" speaker. That said they represent sixties US garage rock with a sound of their own, and a great tremolo. I've dated this one to 1967 by the speaker code

This is a beautiful original Silvertone 5w guitar amp model 1391 from Sears Roebuck & C° 1957. It's the purest sounding amp I have ever heard. Excellent condition and amazing vintage tones. Old stock valves (RCA, Sylvania, Mullard). Replacement vintage Fane speaker - actually sounds very good in this amp despite looking somewhat out of place! It??s not original hence the lower price. A very cool find, 1960s Silvertone badged Kay Vanguard II which has been modded and refretted. Plays great, rich resonant tone and sustain and stays in tune too When I got this it was pretty sad, frets filed flat slipping / missing tuners and a tremolo that knocked the strings out of tune when you even looked at it. And the nitro finish flaking and peeling off the neck every time you touched it
