1959 Silvertone Model 1431 Combo Amplifier - Working - Read
Amp is in great shape, its volume knob is a little dirty and needs a clean. Its gets that crackling when you turn it sometimes, im not great at fixing vintage electronics so im not going to mess with it but when this used to happen to my tour amp i would just clean the knobs out and it would be fine. The tubes also work but probably need a change as well. It is all original parts and working

Presented for your consideration is this Vintage Silvertone Guitar. The number stamped on the inside reads 3974H602 making this a Harmony Silvertone H602 manufactured between 1956-1959. I found it at an estate sale and I am selling it like I found it. Appears to be in decent original condition for the age and use of the instrument. Silvertone 1375 (early U1 series) made by Danelectro of Neptune New Jersey in either 1954 or 1955. The pots date to 1954. It's a solid body guitar with an aluminum bar that runs from the neck through body. It has a red tolex covering on the body and a white Lightning Bolt Silvertone logo on the headstock. One of the most playable examples of these old MIJ guitars I've had my hands on. Low action all the way up the fretboard. I was told this was a 1959. Not real knowledgeable about These old guitars but the research I found I believe Silvertone only out there name on these in 59. There is a number stamped in the body under the pick guard that has a 65 in so that??s about all I know. The tuners have been changed with new vintage style tuners and I made a pick guard for it as the old pick guard was not in good shape. Silvertone (Sears) 45 singles record case / holder circa 1965. The record case came with a Silvertone 1478 guitar as kit when new. Unfortunately we split up the package many years ago. This was a nice accessory to the guitar for carrying around your 45 records. It shows its 60-ish years worth of wear. There must have been a sticker on the front at some point because the residue is still there. Excellent condition and amazing vintage tones. Old stock valves (RCA, Sylvania, Mullard). Replacement vintage Fane speaker - actually sounds very good in this amp despite looking somewhat out of place! It??s not original hence the lower price. The poor man's Deluxe? Not really! The Silvertone is a budget 15 watt amp, built by Danelectro for Sears to sell through their catalogues. They feature a lightweight case of MDF-type material, no chassis to speak of, point-to-point wiring, and a puny looking 12" speaker. That said they represent sixties US garage rock with a sound of their own, and a great tremolo. I've dated this one to 1967 by the speaker code

A very cool find, 1960s Silvertone badged Kay Vanguard II which has been modded and refretted. Plays great, rich resonant tone and sustain and stays in tune too When I got this it was pretty sad, frets filed flat slipping / missing tuners and a tremolo that knocked the strings out of tune when you even looked at it. And the nitro finish flaking and peeling off the neck every time you touched it
I have given the neck a partial respray using nitrocellulose lacquer and replaced the headstock ... more
