Bought this a year ago. I played seldomly. Theres no dead frets on it but there is some significant fret buzz on the A string 1st fret. But I'm also using light gauge strings and its a zero fret so I wonder if thats got something to do with it. The bass is mostly original aside from the body being modified to house Bartolini bass pickups for Rickenbacker 400x basses. The reason for this is, the stock pickups were shot and had low output. Very early made in Japan Kingston 670 bass, single pickup tele style headstock. very cool looking instrument, comes in it??s originally purchased with the bass EZ-Pak Hard case. Generally this base is in good condition especially for the age. There are some small chips and dings, you have to hunt for them, the most frequent are some odd impressions on the side of the neck near the fretboard as if they??re fret markers but they clearly are not.
