This is a Nice Example of the (Kay) Made Old Kraftsman. These guitars are getting more scarce to find. This is a playing guitar. There is checking and play wear thru-out. Good to very good condition. Body certainly has wear and blemishes for being over 60 years old. It was just professionally tuned and cleaned up, neck adjusted, bridge adjusted, pots cleaned and electronics serviced, new end pin. It has all original parts as far as I know. The action is somewhat high, but plays incredibly well. The electronics sound great, but the volume (lower knob) has some static up to about 70% and the static goes away. Vintage Kay Speed Demon Guitar Neck. Neck is "TRUETONE" branded which is Western Auto. Neck is pretty straight by Vintage Kay standards. I got the truss rod nut to screw in and out a little but the adjustment nut is in terrible condition and will need to be replaced (it's almost impossible to get a socket on it). Kay Silvertone Speed Demon electric guitar knobs circa 1962. These were found on Kay Speed Demon guitars (1-3 pickups) and on Silvertone, Airline, and Truetone branded Kay guitars. These are black plastic knobs with a silver / chrome top and they push / slide onto the guitar pots. They're in clean but used condition. The chrome / metal piece on the top shows wear / rust

Up for sale is a 1960s Kay Red Devil Speed Demon. These guitars are rad and this one has tons of vibe. This one comes to us from the previous owner in very good condition less some expected dings and dents as you would expect from an instrument of its age. The pickguard is missing and some considerable fret wear is present. Our tech has gone through this one and set it up as best as it can be. Up for auction is this 1960s Kay Speed Demon single pickup guitar in very good condition. The guitar plays well and looks terrific. There is some paint loss and pealing to the bottom of the guitar as shown in the photos and checking of the paint on the front and some chips to the paint on the headstock.
