Folks from what I can determine this is possibly a late 30??s issue guitar from Custom Craft for KAY and / or product for mail order catalog merchandise. This one can use a little TLC as ??we sell em how we get em?? for the most part unless they need specific repair . Not certain if the tailpiece or the toggle switch cover are original to the guitar but everything works on it but can use electronic spray for knobs and selector switch, strings, ect. No case or bag with it .

Very clean and all original (including case and trem bar) late 1960s Kay Vanguard II. Almost no finish wear, and just a couple of minor dings along the edges. Finish is rather ??satin??, however, which likely represents light surface oxidizing over the decades. I had to do a little work to get it playing well; to remedy some amateurish fret lowering (ahhhhh!). The guitar has a very minor rise at the body joint (common with these), but a former owner badly mangled the top three frets in response.... more

This is a c1964 Kay 6100 "Country" flat-top acoustic dreadnought guitar. It is in very good condition. It has a full and warm sound, that projects well.
The guitar features a gorgeous spruce top in excellent condition with its original pickguard, bridge and saddle. The bridge was reattached. The sound hole has a double inlay.

Travel back in time with this old Kay mandolin. Made in Chicago. Judging by the headstock logo and looks, I believe it is from the late 1940s or early 1950s

I powered her up with a Variac and she Works! Pots need cleaned of course, could possibly need some caps replaced but not noticably noisy. I'm selling As Is. I'm not even going to clean. Up for sale is this 1940s - 1950s American-made Kay Super Grand Auditorium flat-top acoustic guitar. I am not 100% sure of the age, but there are a couple of things that point me to this being from the 1940s or 1950s. First, it has 7 / 32" pearl dot inlays, which were used up to about the 1950s or earlier. Second, it doesn't have a truss rod, which was more standard for instruments starting around 1950.

Bridge was totally mangled (brass bolts / nuts had started to pull up from excess tension) but replaced with an NOS Kay bridge from the same era. Slight and stable risen areas on the top behind the anchor bolts, but I contoured the new bridge over these for better fit. Very minor. Kansas parlour style guitar built under license from Kay in Romania some time between 1958 and 1964 (I believe). The condition is incredibly good considering the age. There are small marks around the edges of the sides and front / back join - where the binding would be - but otherwise it looks fantastic. Truss rod is very rusty and stiff so I don't want to test it. I'd say it likely won't turn
The pickups work as I hear them when tapped with a screwdriver when plugged in.
Take note of the bad split in the body, I have shown clearly in photos
Overall, this would require a lot of effort for a restoration, so may just be useful for parts
