Vintage guitars for sale: Valco

For Sale: 60??s National 1210 guitar amplifier. I??ve owned it since the mid 70??s and used it off and on as a bedroom practice amp. When I got it, it looked like the AC plug had already been replaced and the handle was broken. I rigged the handle with a zip tie(see picture). Since the amp is light, that hack has worked fine. More recently, it needed a new fuse holder. That??s the only repair I??ve ever made to it while in my possession. I had the amp checked out by a tech at that time. Amp ... more

I purchased this amp decades ago from a music store that was going out of business. I never got around to doing anything with it and now I would like to sell it. Someone who is knowledgable can use this for a restoration project or for parts. There is an octal plug that likely connects to a pre amp. I have never tested it out and it comes with no other parts, tubes or accessories.

Very rare 1957 Valco made Gretsch Electromatic 6155 tube amp. In good working condition. Body is in great shape over all with wear. Some denting by one input. All inputs work. Tres cool Custom Kraft Ambassador single pickup electric, USA-made in 1960s, in a very Lake Placid-ish blue metallic. These were an amalgam of Kay and Valco parts and construction. Very strong Valco pup (as used on Supros and Nationals) in middle position. All original, except for string retainers that I modified to get better downward tension at the nut. I HAVE SEEN THIS AMP ON THE WEB DESCRIBED AS A SUPRO DELUXE MODEL. IT IS BADGED - ??MCKINNEY GUITARS?? - I BELIEVE THEY ARE OUT OF TEXAS.

I HAVE NOT TESTED IT - AS IT IS AN OLD TUBE AMP I HAVE NOT POWERED IT UP AND I DO NOT HAVE A VARIAC TO POWER IT UP WITH.

It is not ??Mint?? but it is solid and has great patina. so it should restore nicely. I am not the original owner, so I don??t know if it ever had repairs ... more

This amp has been fully serviced to the stock schematic drawing by Terry Dobbs (aka Mr Valco) in Indiana USA.

The original Rola speaker has been reconed by Gordon Kjellberg in Seattle, he is one of the very best in the business, he uses light weight cone material like what was used in that period
