1963 Ampeg B-15NB. Linden NJ era when Ampeg was at the pinnacle of quality. This is a very rare find. The B-15NB circuit. The rare "NB" circuit variation is a cathode biased amplifier with a solid state diode rectifier rather than a 5AR4 or 5U4 rectifier tube. This gives the amplifier a slightly higher plate voltage, a little more output power and a slightly faster attack due to less sag in the power supply. This was a short lived change. These are really cool amplifers. 50 watt via two 7027A power tubes. Power amplifier section shares most of the B-18 design. Same transformers too. Only made for a few years in the mid to late 60s. This 1969 Ampeg B-12XTC is in great condition. The grill cloth has been recently replaced with period-correct ampeg replacement. The speakers are newer Warehouse C 12-n (Jensen clone). All the tubes are new. The two prong plug was replaced with a grounded plug. Sounds and looks great. The only issue is that these amps are known to have a ticking sound when the tremolo is engaged (enabled with a footswitch) due to the funky circuit they used.
