I bought a new American Fender Jazz bass in 1978 or 1979. I removed the pick guard and the bridge cover (ashtray) as soon as I got it home. The manual with serial number was removed along with the genuine Fender guitar strap. I carefully packed them away along with another genuine Fender guitar strap that I had saved from a Fender Telecaster bass that I bought new around 1970 if memory serves might have been another one in that time frame. This is a rare Made in Japan Squier by Fender Jazz Bass. The serial number indicates that it was made between 1984 and 1987. It is finished in black paint, presumably with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard (although I can't verify the wood species myself)
I have replaced the pickguard with a new aftermarket version. It required some fitting around the neck, neck pickup, and the knob plate. I also did not want to drill extra holes where any of the screw-holes of the new pickguard do not ... more

Made in the legendary Fujigen factory , this lovely jazz dates from 1984-85. Stunning Ash body with maple and pearl inlayed neck.
Condition wise I??d say 9 out of 10. It??s basically mint, with only a couple of tiny marks (see a little mark under the A on the logo, that??s it!) and light oxidation of the chrome tuners. It really is in time warp condition!
Looks and sounds incredible, has the 3 Bolt tilting neck joint, a lovely low action and fresh strings. A proper slap machine!

Considering its age, this 1975 American Fender Jazz Bass is in pretty amazing condition.
It isn't perfect as it has some slight damage to the finish on the right side of its body which is shown in the pictures but asides from that and some light scratches, the finish is almost perfect.
It also has some slight wear to the frets, mainly on the D string but nothing that compromises its playability or sound
