Very nice 1960s Goya-Levin F-11 grand concert size acoustic, made in Sweden. Fan-braced solid spruce top and flamed birch sides and back. Plenty of dings, scratches, etc , but nothing serious. More than shows in the pics, though. An interesting "hybrid" model. Wide flat fretboard and flamenco guards suggest nylon strings. Pin bridge, solid peghead, and brass tuner posts are obviously for steel strings. Original, probably white, guards were gone, but the very thin tortoise replacements are more ... more

Here is a very clean example of a vintage GOYA folk guitar, model F-19. It was made in Sweden in 1963 based on the following: Serial number and the fact that the label says New York 10 rather than the NY zip code as zip codes were not introduced to the USA until July 1, 1963. Also, this guitar was introduced in 1961 with a pickguard and by 1962, the pickguard was not offered on it. In 1963, they went to a slotted headstock. A beautiful piece of guitar history made by Levin, Sweden, 1968. It is a 1968 / 69 model and regarded as being relatively rare as most of the Levin production of this model was for the Goya Brand which was marketed to the USA. Martin Guitars USA were somewhat irked by the competition from Scandanavia and bought Levin Guitars out in the early 1970's. For sale is my Levin Goliath Guitar which I purchased new in 1968 from Bell musical Instruments in Surbiton, It is the later model with adjustable pegs for each string. It has the bolt on neck with adjustable truss rod. The woods used for these guitars were seasoned woods with the top in Alpine spruce, the back and sides of solid maple, the neck is hondurian mahogany and the fret and bridge are brazillian rosewood.
