Up for sale is a rare in the US 1959 Levin model 123 acoustic steel string guitar. 12 fret 000 body. Solid spruce over solid birch. Ladder bracing. Rosewood fretboard and bridge. This guitar reminds me of an LG-1, but it's 12 fret and slightly smaller body size. But the tone is like an LG-1 to my ears. Nut width is wide at around 1 85" and the neck is chunky. ??Vintage Herman Carlson Levin Swedish Made Guitar from 1959-64 period. In good used condition no splits. Needs one string and a piece of decorative piping along the neck needs sticking back. See pictures. I think it's a Levin take on a Martin D-45 or D-18. Spruce top and rosewood or maple sides and back with a mahogany neck. Very nice guitar. Buyer collects for 2 reasons. This is an incredible vintage specimen. Hailing from 1963, this guitar was handbuilt in Sweden from the finest woods - as all Levin's were. Prior to Martin & Co buying the company in 1973 for the old growth wood stores, Levin built a range of high end instruments in Gothenburg. This LM-26 is a stunning example. It has a gorgeous, woody midrange that only true vintage examples have, with a sweet top end. It sits beautifully in mixes
