Here is a beautiful Japanese classical made in 1977 by Suzuki Violin Co. branded 'Kimbara' for UK export. The model 25 / Z was one of the top models of the year. Spec'd with Jacaranda (Brazilian Rosewood), cedar top, butterfly rosette and GoToh tuners
Suzuki made a solid top version of this guitar and a double plate version (two pieces of bonded solid wood, for crack resistance) and as you can see from the rear photo, this one is double plate. Sounds great and was one of my first purchases ... more

Made In Japan. 1970's vintage. model number 7 / V. made in japan during the lawsuit era. this model is possibly modelled after a martin D-18 which would have had mahogany back and sides although the pick guard looks suspiciously taylor like. anyhow. high pressure laminate was used with quality veneers to finish the spruce top (veneer) and what looks like mahogany back and sides (veneers) with mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. very ... more

The legendary ?chainsaw?? fuzz as used by lots of big names. I??ve played lots of clones and the original has a presence and clarity to my ears that no modern pedal quite reaches. Really aggressive but somehow very musical at full tilt, roll back the guitar volume and you??ve got furry mellow stoner fuzz and synth-like bass. I love this pedal but I have another so this is spare. This one has been treated to fresh wiring, footswitch, pots (so it looks) and jacks. More reliable as the old 70s ... more

l have for auction a 1970s vintage Kimbara twelve string acoustic guitar which has been converted to a six string. The model is 7 / V and it was made in Japan. It's a quality, very well made and solid guitar and although the strings look reasonably old, it still plays very well and sounds great. I've given the fretboard a clean and oil (which now looks and feels great), also lubricated the tuners
The neck is nice and straight with good frets and fretboard and the bridge is height adjustable ... more
