This vintage tuner set is in great condition for it's age with excellent and authentic patina. If you are looking to replace or restore a 60's or early 70s guitar. This is a great set. Made by Grover in the USA during the 1960s, these were used on Martin, Mosrite, and possibly other brands.

I bought this as a projectBoth pickups produce sound. The volume pot cuts out, but functions at full volume. Tone and switch work. One pickup needs a screw. The frets are flat, I have read it is common for these. The neck needs adjustment. Nut needs glued. In general good condition for age. I don't know if the "USA" or Avenger decal is original or not, I have read this may be a MIJ Firstman which copied Mosrite. I believe all Avengers were. 1966 Mosrite Celebrity With Vibrato  Low Serial Number. This guitar sounds and plays great. The action is actually very low for a guitar of this age. There's lots of finish checking. This is a vintage 1966 Mosrite Joe Maphis Mark XII with a Natural finish. Mosrite had a long relationship with Joe Maphis, a country guitarist known for his flashy, virtuosic style. Maphis was eventually given his own model, which has a lot in common with the Mosrite "Combo " , but instead has no F-holes. Great playing original bass. The dark blue finish Is thick and shows the typical checking front and back. But not unattractive.
The pots are stiff to turn but are left as were factory installed

A very unique amalgamation of Mosrite features, this Ventures Model was ostensibly sent back to the Mosrite factory around 1970 for repair work of some sort. Japanese made in the mid-late 1970's, the Mosrite Avenger is one of those effortlessly cool models that was often replicated by Guyatone and Teisco and was incredibly popular in Japan.
