Arbiter Les Paul Junior DC, built in Japan in the late 70s, bought by a friend of mine back in 1980 from the Rock Shop in Cambridge. It's bounced between me and him since then.
45 years later, it's been resprayed with nitro black, (it was tobacco burst) has a dark red translucent tortoiseshell pickguard, and replacement Gibson style white button tuners put on when the Schaller original's plastic tabs gave up. A somewhat modified example of the classic 80s E-Series Squier Strat. These Made in Japan guitars have a serious reputation for being as good as a Fender, massively exceeding the normal Squier quality playability and sound
This one plays and sounds wonderful, buy has had some not so sympathetic modifications. They make for a superb guitar to play and a tonal powerhouse, but not one for the collectors or purists
