Up for sale, a 1960 Hofner 500 / 5 President bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Famously the instrument of original Beatles bassist Stuart Sutcliffe, the 500 / 5 offers a distinctive tonal color and depth that sets it apart from Sir McCartney??s beloved 500 / 1. An extremely rare iteration of the 500 / 5 distributed in London by Selmer (identified by the ??Hofner Foreign?? serialized label), this bass is a transitional model with the adjustable truss rod first seen in ?60 ... view on ebay

Vintage floating bridge. The saddle part is from a late 1950s Hofner Senator President or Congress (maybe others). It is dark ebonized maple and marked 02 on the underside. The base is made of rosewood, so a lighter redder brown. The two parts don't exactly match, but they fit and work well

Original German made Hofner President semi acoustic guitar. Well used condition having had a few repairs in its life including a significant headstock repair at some point. I suspect that the bridge is non-original and there are some sticker shadows on the top. This is quite a rare model as a President and having a thin line body. No case. Collection in person only from Tavistock in Devon.... view on ebay

Beautiful Hofner President guitar - I had some holes made by some Atari pick ups (put in the 60s) professionally restored. Its back to its original accoustic state. The neck is straight amd the guitar plays comfortably with quite a low action amd deep C cup neck. There is still the jack plug input in at the bottom and the wiring is tucked inside if you want to add a pick up - i have included the Atari pick ups and a Hofner president scratch plate that i never attached. The case is very old and... view on ebay

Hofner 500 / 5 bass. Made in Germany in the 60??s
The 500 / 5 usually has 2 pickups, but this rare version seems to have only one. It says model is 500 / 5 on the label.
This model is quite expensive, but this bass in particular has been through some work, so it??s far from original:
- the wooden bridge is a replacement (and its a guitar bridge, not bass, but does the job)
- the tuners were replaced at some point, it has 70??s Japanese tuners instead
- the original ... view on ebay

For sale a beautiful 1962 Hofner President Thin-line in brunette. Gorgeous looking instrument with lovely rich lacquer checking to the finish throughout
In great shape for a 64yr old guitar, condition is consistent with a well kept vintage instrument showing honest age related wear with no signs of warping, shrinking, cracks or visible repairs. This is a very rare and highly sought-after Hofner President 66 electric guitar. Very few of these were made with the florentine cutaway. Crafted in 1963, this guitar features a hollow body made of laminate and a rosewood fretboard with 22 frets. It is designed for right-handed players and has a 6-string configuration. It has a perfect action and the neck and fingerboard are superb. This guitar is all original and perfect for collectors or players

Hofner President 1959 guitar with built-in pickupHas some marks and signs wear 'patina' (as expected really for a 66 year old), no structural issues
Really great, Hofner President vintage guitar (made in 1959), sounds really great, looks great and has a pickup fitted inside (also sounds great)
I don't know the make of the pickup, it is stuck to the inside top of the guitar (like a K&K style), it is a very effective passive pickup and give great volume and reproduction of sound)... view on ebay

Vintage 1953 Hofner President *1st Year* Brunette Acoustic Archtop Guitar w OHSC
To the best of my knowledge, this is the earliest Hofner President serial number I have found. It's from the first year of President guitars - 1953 - and has the original hard case (painted) included too. A true rarity, especially with that Straten tailpiece! According to the previous owner, the first owner he purchased it off got this in Germany in the 1950s on his way from Africa to the UK, and kept it for many... view on ebay

This 1959 Höfner President Thin in Brunette is a well-preserved example from the closing years of the 1950s, representing Höfner??s move toward slimmer-bodied electric guitars while retaining the traditional fully hollow construction the brand was known for. Built in West Germany during a formative period for the company, these late-??50s Presidents sit at an interesting point between earlier archtop designs and the more modern thinlines that followed
The guitar features a fully hollow ... view on ebay
