This Exquisite little Martin 1-21 Parlour Guitar was made in the Martin Factory in Nazareth in the USA between the 1869 and 1880!
It was dated by Hank guitars in Denmark Street in the in the 90's as from 1880 But we have recently found information that suggests it could be much earlier as the beautiful inlay on the back strip and the end wedge are not found on later than 1860's 1-21's (Wood End edge and herringbone backstrips were standard features of the 186o's and after 1-21's), the ... more

This Encore Bass is not quite what it seems .It may have Encore written on the Headstock but the body parts of the Guitar are in fact Japanese made in the late 1970's by the same factories that made Jedson's and then put together in the early 80's, giving it that Matsumoko look inspired by a 60's Burns!
Its a shortscale bass and with a Curvy Sounds Set up, it is now playing so beautifully, with a sweet full voice that makes the high notes ring out as sweet as the low bass notes boom!
