This very rare Smith Mel O bar Guitar was designed by Walt Smith in 1967 to be a lapsteel (45 degree neck) so it can be played standing up like a Guitar. These are original saddle with some minor repairs I believe one saddle was trimmed and then welded onto the back / intonation screw entry part as a repair job, at least to use all the same material.
