This very rare Smith Mel O bar Guitar was designed by Walt Smith in 1967 to be a lapsteel (45 degree neck) so it can be played standing up like a Guitar. This Encore Bass is not quite what it seems .It may have Encore written on the Headstock but the body parts of the Guitar are in fact Japanese made in the late 1970's by the same factories that made Jedson's and then put together in the early 80's, giving it that Matsumoko look inspired by a 60's Burns!
Its a shortscale bass and with a Curvy Sounds Set up, it is now playing so beautifully, with a sweet full voice that makes the high notes ring out as sweet as the low bass notes boom!

Rare and lovely Marshall 1961a cabinet loaded with Celestion Vintage speakers. This basically a 2 x 12 cab in the classic Marshall 4x12 box, which Marshall only made for a limited time. So lighter to lug about and with a great sound from the full sized cab , it also looks much better than the 1936 half sized 2x 12 ( imho )

An excellent example of a late fifties to early sixties Goodmans Audiom 60 alnico 12' speaker, 15 ohms, 15W. The label does not state the exact model but the appearance and specification exactly matches published specs of the Audiom 60 as per the final images from the 1958 & 1953 catalogues respectively, with an actual weight of 5 825kg, height of 7 5 " , a voice coil diameter of 1 3 / 4" and a DCR of 13 5 ohms
