It??s hard to beat these rock??n??roll machines. The Explorer is a staple in the rock / metal scene, and having a Kahler bridge system was all the rage at the time. Ferrari Red is a very 80s color, too. This one has all new electronics: pickups, pots, input jack, switch, and wiring. The pickups are a set of Geppetto Jalapeno humbuckers, the pots are Bourns 500k, and the switch and input jack are Switchcraft. The Kahler is original, but the nut is a direct replacement. Really nice Strat from the 80??s. A unique model and hard to find. Neck date is May 31, 1983. Guitar plays well and looks great. Has seen moderate play with wear to the fingerboard and first few frets (nothing that is detrimental to it??s playability). Other signs of wear are scratches, nicks, blemishes, and minor corrosion on the bridge. Tuners have been upgraded to Sperzel locking turners and work GREAT

These guitars deserve so much more credit than they get. Even though it??s on the heavier side at 9lbs 15oz, it??s one of the best playing, looking, and sounding guitars I??ve had the good fortune of owning. This one has the early DiMarzio XR-7 humbucker pickups, and they live up to the hype. They??re loud and creamy- milkshake thick tone. These are always great guitars. Once you play one of these you get why Gibson tried so hard to stop them from being sold. These are, hands down, the best value when it comes to old and cool guitars. The pickups punch way above their weight, and the neck is super comfortable. The overall condition is excellent, with some minor surface scratches and scuffs, and a very minimal amount of fret wear. These are hard to find because they were only made in this Strat body style for 1 year before switching to an LP double cut body style. Personally, I think this version is way cooler. A Strat with Tele electronics is the simplest way to explain it. I??ve included a couple of catalog pages from 84 to make it easier to check out the history. Awesome guitar with a familiar shape for those who don'tmind an older knockoff. There are minor scrapes and impressions in finish as is expected on a used guitar. Frets are clean without pits on first few. Truss rod works. Back of headstock has some sticker residue
Bridge is not original. It is a jazzmaster style without the legs. Pics online show various different bridges so I am unsure what was originally there

This guitar was at a Tag sale along with another old acoustic . They both had been played and used . Might have been sisters taking lessons . Someone walked out withthe other guitar before i could look at it . This one it straight and true . I changed out the strings with a new set of light steel , but may have had nylon strings when new .
