The original owner of this 1963 Olympic Special Epiphone guitar was my uncle, who was gifted it as a kid and basically let it sit under his bed for decades. After it was passed on to me, I played it for a while and now it is in very good and not excellent condition. (whoops- lol). Ready to sell it. No case included. Up for sale is a clean 1961 Epiphone Olympic Single Cut in its original sunburst finish. This is easily one of the absolute earliest Olympics we've seen and it has a few features you typically do not see on later models such as the Epiphone headstock logo, ink stamp serial, fat 50s rounded neck and angled nickel tailpiece. This is a very clean, all original 1965 Epiphone Olympic Double in cherry finish. Includes original chipboard case. There are only a few dings as shown in the pictures. The two single coil Gibson PU380 'Melody Maker" pickups are strong and clear. The bridge pickup sounds bright and articulate with excellent bite. The neck pickup is big and warm. 1963 Epiphone Olympic, Sunburst, Double cutaway
Previous owner is a guitar technician, who bought the guitar in Denmark Street, London. He has set the guitar up, changed the bridge to improve intonation. The tuners look as if they have been replaced at some time as condition is so good, probably too good for the many years this guitar has been around.
