This is a very presentable example of a Watkins Rapier 33 that has clearly been looked after and recently set up
The guitar presents really well, with a strong red finish and attractive, honest age-related wear
There are light surface marks and pickguard wear consistent with a mid-1960s instrument, but nothing off-putting or structural

Selling here as a project , spares / repairs - no returns
Serial 1634 so an early production version, set neck.
It's a little tired condition wise ,the lacquer is very checked all over and there are many marks , scuffs , indents and ageing
It did play pretty well before I decided to part it out so it maybe a fairly easy project for someone to get up and running

I couldn??t find much about the model, or about bell, if you have any info please let me know, I??d appreciate that. Till then, I assume it is a rare model made by Wilson for the Bell brand.

It is a beautiful, compact 7 / 8 scale guitar, very light and comfortable. Made with solid wood, and with really good quality parts. Very nice condition

Vintage and very cool Watkins Rapier Guitar - I bought this a while ago and managed to get some bits for it but I haven??t got the time to properly finish it - this needs someone with the time to really care for what is a really rare 60s guitar! From what I understand the set neck variation is pretty rare.
Comes with a Watkins hi lo trem system that I managed to find - non original whammy bar that slots in but could do with an original - pickguard is original but pickups are a newer copy of ... more

Early Watkins Rapier guitar neck and body
The neck is slightly bent, it played at like 2 5mm when I decided to take it apart. Also, I received it with that line across the body, I don??t know if it was fixed or it??s just the way it was built (I think the second) but it is very solid.

Watkins rapier 33 in red with hard case in good condition for its age, fret spouts need smoothing as I believe it to have been re fretted at some point, there are some marks around the fret dots and the paint work which is original has the marbling or finish checking effect that vintage guitars usually get, there is also the marbling effect or finish checking on the back of the neck which is also typical of the vintage guitars, the only part that is not original is one of the control knobs is ... more
