Very rare, England made, Watkins Rapier 44 that is in outstanding condition! Only a few minor paint chips and light dings. Neck is straight, action set low at .070- 060 with no buzzing or fretout

Here is my 1969 Watkins / Wilson Rapier. It was around the name of the company changed to Wilson. If my memory serves me correctly, the serial number is from either 69 or 70. Purchased from Hank's Guitars in Denmark St, December 2007
It was my 18th birthday and I treated myself to my first ever electric guitar. Turns out I didn't really like it. I got a new guitar for my 19th birthday and never really played the Rapier 22 since.

Up for sale is a very rare 1970s Left handed Wilson Rapier. As you'll be no doubt aware, Wilson was formerly Watkins / WEM, and briefly had a plethora of updated models from the former line-up. One of those was the famous Rapier, and this is a superb example, complete with a natural wood finish, clear scratchplate, humbuckers, and a maple fretboard

Beautiful ?under the bed find?? Watkins Rapier from the 1960??s ??. I??ve put in a replacement (as original) selector switch, other than that this beautiful guitar is in all original condition with fully working electrics!!
The neck has a couple of very minor ?dings?? to its rear (see photos) and the body colour remains vibrant with a few marks from ?youthful exuberance?? all those years ago along with a fine lacquer crack to the rear (again see photos) ?? this guitar comes with its original ... more

Very rare Wilson guitar, (WEM). Neck from a Wilson mercury series, body is a prototype Les Paul / Zemaitis style. Very well made in one piece of mahogany! Aluminium back plate as with most Wilson guitars Wonderful neck, refretted, easy to play. You can hear the response and clarity unplugged. Plays very well. Serial 1634 so an early production version, set neck with 3 single coil pickups
Its a little tired condition wise but a good chance for an afffordable 60s vintage guitar. Its just had a fret dress and some small attention to the nut and new strings fitted.
The lacquer is very checked all over and the tuners are obvious replacements with the top E tuners corner modified to follow the shape of the headstock. Not ... more

Late 1960s / 1970s Wilson (WEM) Sapphire electric guitar - Rare left handed version. Made in England
Hard to date exactly but Wilson branded WEM guitars were post 1968 and according to Watkins guitar world circa 1972 guitars were in the 18000 serial number range, this is serial 17195 so as a guess its from between 1968 - 1972
