Looks to have been refinished into red as there is an area where finish sh has chipped off and there is a blue finish under it.

I don't like to use the word Frankenstrat. That conjures up an image of a guitar thrown together with whatever parts were available. That was not the case here. A lot of thought and money went into it. Here's the story:

Beautiful, Vintage 1989 Squier Jazz bass. If you are not familiar with these late 80s Squier E neck bass guitars and Strats then you're missing out. Here we have a cool old late 80's Japanese EG-600 'Mint Collection' era Alpine White Custom Les Paul clone. This is a superb example of a late 80's Greco Custom (they usually have a fair bit of wear on them). It was built at the legendary FujiGen plant in Japan in 1989.
