I believe that this particular 1st offering of the Musicmaster (1956-63) has been the most loved I've ever seen. Evidenced by it's obvious play wear. A person doesn't spend much time with a guitar that isn't very much enjoyed. These first Musicmasters were designed for younger players, students, as well as older folks who have smaller hands. 1961 Fender Musicmaster guitar. Former owner bought this in the 90??s as an original finish guitar, but it is actually a 30+ year old refinish in Dakota Red. Appears to have originally been Olympic White. Finish checking on both sides does not photograph well. Neck appears to have been over-sprayed with clear at the same time. Transitional year with the late 1959 changing from the 2nd generation color, and pickguard to the new Desert sand and Rosewood neck. This also has the 56-59 body wood before they added woodland between the knobs to support the flimsier plastic pickguard. This is a true transitional era showing an L serial neck, pearl neck dots, Kluson double line tuners, 9AUG65A neck date, 1376534 pot codes (dating to the 34th week of 1965). Up for sale is killer 1959 Fender Musicmaster in its original Desert Sand finish. This has to be one of the earliest rosewood board examples we've seen. The neck has no date (common for 1959) and the pots are both coded 137916 dating to the 16th week of 1959. This one has a slender neck profile and is entirely original. There is. decent amount of wear and tear, finish wear, finish checking, etc. Lots of fun to play and sounds great!

This is an excellent, all original example of a Fender Musicmaster II in terms of condition, playability, and tone. This is the 22 5 inch short scale model. It retains its blue color when many Daphne Blue instruments have faded to green. The guitar shows light play wear with only a few blemishes as seen in the photos. The neck dates to September 9, 1965. This is one of the better playing Musicmaster IIs I've come across. The original case is included.
