Rare Sunburst Vintage1963 Gretsch 6117 double anniversary guitar in well played condition. Sounds great with an expensive modern Gretsch case. It has a proper gretsch bigsby and a rocking bar bridge added. It also has a Brazilian board. One of the tuners is bent. Excellent guitar from the golden period of the Gretsch guitar company. Kay Value Leader - 3 pickup model (early 1960's, I think)
Very cool model, with three Kay pancake / Zippo pickups
Metal scratchplate still retains most of it's etched checkered pattern
The original brass frets were heavily worn and the nut and bridge string spacing were far too narrow for the width of the fretboard
I had an expert luthier re-fret the guitar with nickel-silver frets, and a new nut was made and new slots cut on the wooden saddle.

This Strat was made by Fender Japan in the Fujigen factory between 1984 and 1987. Guitars made in Japan at that time were often sold in the Japanese home market as Fenders but were rebranded as Squires for export initially to the European market and then more widely. This model is broadly based on the 62 Reissue Stratocaster. It??s a quality build, as you would expect from Fujigen.
