A rare fretless banjo by esteemed American maker H C. Dobson. Stamped either 1870 or 1878 on the dowel rod along with the serial number and the makers name. In excellent condition for it's age 10 3 / 4" diameter spunover pot, 26" scale ebony fretboard with mother of pearl markers and side dots. Modern friction tuners which work beautifully.
