Gretsch produced various musical instruments in New York, USA, from the early twentieth century, with guitars added to the line in the 1930s. It was most famous for it's hollow-body electric acoustics, being favoured by the rock and roll artists of the 1950s and the beat groups of the 1960s. In 1970, production was moved to Booneville, Arkansas.

Users include Chet Atkins, George Harrison, Bo Diddley, Steve Marriot and Peter Tork.

When one refinishes a Gretsch, these get wasted in the process. I bought these from Duke Kramer in the 90's. These are the plain black style with no "binding " . Overall the guitar is in very good shape for its age. I??m not sure the exact year where the infamous Gretsch binding rot problems subside, but binding on this is in good shape and shows no such signs (the neck binding has suffered from commonplace cracking and has been stabilized).
