This is a cool vintage 1969 Hofner 490 12-string guitar w / a Spruce top, curly maple back and sides. Rosewood fingerboard, jumbo round-shoulder neck. It has a large, round-shouldered body and a long 64 5 cm scale. It is very deep, considerably wider at the sides than other models. This was the last year these jumbo-sized bodies were built. This Hofner shorty bass guitar is in great overall condition and comes with a standard soft bag and an extra pick. No cable included. A couple scuffs on the back but no other visible flaws! Bag has a couple tears inside where tuning pegs have rubbed.
Great for travel and easy to store, this weighs only 6ish pounds and is about 42?? long and 10?? wide with a solid sound

Here is a vintage survivor guitar that's in fantastic condition. It only has a few minor scratches / dings on front of the guitar. Neck is slim taper, frets are in fine shape
Neck is straight and action low .070- 080 as measured at 12th fret. All parts original except volume pot for bridge pickup. Value is 500k instead of original of 50k so knob acts more like on off control.

Original Selmer case for Hofner Guitar, Mid-Late 50's. Not sure which model Hofner guitar, but the measurements are 43" long, 17" across and 4 1 / 2" deep. Case has Tolex wear on rear bout, both top and bottom, and a few spots elsewhere, but overall for it's age not too bad. All latches work, original handle. There were a few areas where the wood seam was separating, I was able to repair them with Wood glue and clamps, problem solved. No more separation in the seams.... more

Silvertone Teisco Hofner-style Beatle bass guitar pickguard from the late 1960s. The sale includes the 3-ply (white / black / white) pickguard and the thumb rest with the bolts holding it to the pickguard. There's some gunk on the pickguard. All of the electronics in this guitar function as they should except the middle and bridge pickup have lower output than they should. The neck pickup is fine. The on-off switch and the tone controls for the pickups work as they should and I suspect it is something in the 2 pick ups themselves
I have not opened it up to look inside. I do not want to risk the fragile 60-year-old wires since all the electronics work otherwise

This is a nice Hofner copy of the Beatle Bass Paul used. We believe it to be a Univox or Teisco 1960's. Electronics all work however the tone just has a little static noise when you turn it volume works great and so does the tone other than that drop of static while turning (probably a very good electronics cleaning is in order). Really good shape for it's age with minor wear electronics have been gone through and it's been setup. 30" scale length. One of the earliest basses to have a preamp and the sounds are very usable. Roy Estrada used to play one of these in the Mothers of Invention that Frank Zappa owned. All around an amazing find and a joy to play, no functional issues.... more

Surprisingly clean example of a '60s (or '70s?) Japanese viola bass. The action gets high as you go up the fretboard despite the saddles being bottomed out. Neck looks straight. I gave the truss a little turn in each direction but was wary of going too far. Not sure whether it needs a neck reset, shim, or to just have the bridge filed down. Frets are excellent. Electronics are clean. There are some paint chips in the pickup rings, but otherwise it's cosmetically great. Wondering if the V / T ... more

1960's HOFNER Colorama mod. 161 Redburst, Germany
This rare Hofner guitar was made in Germany in the 1960s. There is no marking on the guitar, but I assume it is a model No. 161. Guitar is very light in weight ( 2 22kg or 4 15lb ) and body is hollow inside
Considering the age, I estimate the external condition as very good. There are some scratches and small dents, but nothing major. Please take a look on the posted pictures where these marks are clearly visible on.

This is a 1957 Hofner Congress. This is a stunning looking, vintage guitar. The guitar has the serial number 4853 which dates is to 1957 (Serial number range 4718 - 5808)
The guitar is a fully hollow archtop that has been retrofitted with pickups. I believe these were a factory add on option. The pickups currently do not work properly, this is probably down to a simple wiring issue but I don't have the patience for re-writing hollow body guitars myself

I've had this guitar for ~ 8yrs, I played it regularly in the first year, and hardly at all since, it hasn't been played for at least 3 yrs. It's been sat in a hardcase without strings since (CASE NOT INCLUDED)

1965 Hofner President in superb condition. Looks gorgeous, amazing build, plays amazingly well with a fast low action and appears to be all original. It really does play beautifully.
This is the Thinline version from 1965 in great shape with no signs of warping, cracking, shrinking or repairs etc.
A superb vintage Hofner ready to play.

Rare vintage Höfner Colorama solid body guitar with one original 1960s Humbucker in the neck position. The guitar was refinished pink at some point before I had it. It??s been on a non-smoking studio wall for the last four years, with regular maintenance and care. The neck is one of the best and playing I?ve ever tried. Sounds raw and spanky, a great instrument for garage rock / blues or punk. Some minor discolouration on the pick guard around the pots, only visible with light reflection.... more
