This is a nice Hofner copy of the Beatle Bass Paul used. We believe it to be a Univox or Teisco 1960's. Electronics all work however the tone just has a little static noise when you turn it volume works great and so does the tone other than that drop of static while turning (probably a very good electronics cleaning is in order). Surprisingly clean example of a '60s (or '70s?) Japanese viola bass. The action gets high as you go up the fretboard despite the saddles being bottomed out. Neck looks straight. I gave the truss a little turn in each direction but was wary of going too far. Not sure whether it needs a neck reset, shim, or to just have the bridge filed down. Frets are excellent. All of the electronics in this guitar function as they should except the middle and bridge pickup have lower output than they should. The neck pickup is fine. The on-off switch and the tone controls for the pickups work as they should and I suspect it is something in the 2 pick ups themselves
I have not opened it up to look inside. I do not want to risk the fragile 60-year-old wires since all the electronics work otherwise

This bass guitar has been tested and all electronics works as they are designed. There are some scratches on the body however nothing that is deep more just from playing. The pick guards is missing which is why there is a hole on the side as shown in the photos of the listing. The case has many broken latches which is why it is held closed with a rubber band

Really good shape for it's age with minor wear electronics have been gone through and it's been setup. 30" scale length. One of the earliest basses to have a preamp and the sounds are very usable. Roy Estrada used to play one of these in the Mothers of Invention that Frank Zappa owned. All around an amazing find and a joy to play, no functional issues.... more

Original Selmer case for Hofner Guitar, Mid-Late 50's. Not sure which model Hofner guitar, but the measurements are 43" long, 17" across and 4 1 / 2" deep. Case has Tolex wear on rear bout, both top and bottom, and a few spots elsewhere, but overall for it's age not too bad. All latches work, original handle. There were a few areas where the wood seam was separating, I was able to repair them with Wood glue and clamps, problem solved. No more separation in the seams.... more

This rare Hofner guitar was made in Germany in the 1960s. There is no marking on the guitar, but I assume it is a model No. 161. Guitar is very light in weight ( 2 22kg or 4 15lb ) and body is hollow inside

For sale is my heavily modded Hofner Congress. The previous owner did a fair bit of work to it including installing the mini-Humbucker pickup, the volume and tone knobs, tailpiece and upgrading the tuning knobs.

It??s a lovely guitar and has nice low action. I??ve always wanted an Archtop like this but it just doesn??t suit my playing style.

This was the 40th Hofner Committee to be imported into the UK (serial number 2040) the body is pencil dated 20 10 1953. It has been confirmed as being either a late 1953 or early 1954 import.
Sadly this was part of my dad??s proud collection but unfortunately I??m a left halthough a tough decision, it would be a shame for me to keep it, especially as it is a very playable guitar with great action and tone. 1965 Hofner President in superb condition. Looks gorgeous, amazing build, plays amazingly well with a fast low action and appears to be all original. It really does play beautifully.

1966 Höfner Ambassador 5126. Serial No: 240. First off, this guitar has been modified as you can see in the photos. One of the tone pots has been swapped out for a 3 way pick-up selector which would normally be on the lower cut-away. The additional switches that have been added are for coil selection for each pick-up. I've recently had this guitar at a local guitar shop to confirm this as I'm no guitar tech. Serial No 1592 dates this guitar to 1963 as shown on the Verithin Register This is an original German built Verithin model, imported by Selmer and then fitted with a Bigsby. This was fairly common practice at the time, apparently because the Bigsby models were not as easy to obtain. So the Bigsby unit is probably the same age as the guitar but I cannot guarantee that. These were Tornados that arrived with body finish that ovation didn??t approve, were repainted with what is believed to be acoustic inner paint from ovation and dubbed the ?eclipse??. All original and in amazing condition. Please take into account, it is a very old instrument, so it has a some blemishes and signs of use and age, like lines on the lacquer at the wood joints
A previous owner installed green fretboard side markers, and sanded around them a bit (check the pictures).

Lots of checking and blemishes. Heavy checking and dings on front of guitar and top of headstock. Totally overhauled electrics, now all working perfectly. Ebony fretboard. Plays and sounds amazing. A genuine 1960s acoustic guitar in excellent condition for its age, and still very playable with a nice action and good frets
Many guitarists started their journey with these guitars including the great Hank Marvin. They were decent quality and a lot cheaper than a Gibson, Fender etc. This is a real survivor, plenty of patina but no cracks or major marks

For sale is a beautiful Hofner acoustic dreadnought guitar
Made in Western Germany. The serial number 208436 dates it, I believe, to 1979
Please see photos for condition - it's certainly had a life! There are 2 holes that go clean the way through on the back
There is a slight gap in the bridge but it doesn't affect the action at all
I've just put new strings on it and it sounds great!

It??s been on a non-smoking studio wall for the last four years, with regular maintenance and care. The neck is one of the best and playing I?ve ever tried.
