Made in Chicago, Illinois by the late great Kay Musical Instrument Company. Judging by the double-line Kluson Deluxe tuners and late-era Kay logo badge, I believe it is from very late in Kay's American manufacturing life, like around 1966-1968. Very rare ??non Bobbie Thomas?? model 830 made in 1968 generally in used but good condition no major flaws, printed pattern on the pickups is worn. This is the same guitar as the Bobbie Thomas except no signature, no f hole binding, different neck inlays, and the top control, different color way and actually less made, so pretty rare. The only issue is sometimes the neck pickups tone is a little funky, not all the time, maybe 20% of the time. I??ll try and clean it up a bit more before shipping.... more

No cracking or splitting in the wood or anywhere on the neck.
there is a little pitting or surfaced rust here, and there on some of the steel . It??s a really nice banjo and you won??t find another one this cheap that can be cleaned up and brought back to life so inexpensively. I don??t know what tuning or anything along that route. It may need all the strings are there

This National Style 1 mandolin is being sold for a local estate and appears to be original throughout. Serial number (stamped in body near endpin) is #250.
