Travel back in time with this old electric lap steel guitar. The headstock top is branded MASTERTONE SPECIAL. It was built by Gibson, at its old Kalamazoo, Michigan factory.
The factory order number F(or E)7812-6 is stamped on back of headstock. That exact number is not in Spann's Prewar Guide to Gibson, but it's listed as in the 1942-1945 era. I think it's the same as the model EH-100, Gibson's low end lap steel

Vintage Gibson Skylark Steel Lap Guitar With Hard Case.

Beautiful vintage Gibson Skylark for sale. The first number of the serial is very hard to make out. It looks like 02601 but the first number is faded so possibly 62601 . Very rare and incredible piece to add to your collection! Acquired in an estate sale and not a guitar connoisseur so this piece is being sold as is. I've got a very nice clean 1955 Gibson Century Lap Steel in its original and rare blue finish. This finish is somewhere between a blue and green but it's listed as blue. These are tough to find in good shape and this is one is in excellent condition. It does have a few minor dings (see photos), but overall, it's in fantastic shape.
