Vintage floating bridge. The saddle part is from a late 1950s Hofner Senator President or Congress (maybe others). It is dark ebonized maple and marked 02 on the underside. The base is made of rosewood, so a lighter redder brown. The two parts don't exactly match, but they fit and work well

Up for sale is my beloved 1959 Hofner Senator. It's a gorgeous archtop guitar with wonderful tone and resonance. In the 50s, Hofner, Gretsch and Gibson reigned supreme in the Archtop / Jazz guitar space
The Senator is the slightly larger-bodied version of the parlour Jazz guitar, the Congress

Beautiful playing, looking and sounding guitar from the era of lightweight, handcrafted guitars
This is resonant, light, has a lot of projection and a superb action
The downside are a few dings over the last 70 years and a previous owner replaced the tuners for some reason

Vintage Hofner 500 / 3 Senator Bass 1960 serial number.
Originally would have had a single bar pickup. Upgraded later in the ?60s with staple top pickups and a ?67 large control panel. Also has a later pick guard.
Lovely brunette colour and in great condition for its age, neck angle is fine with hardly any fret wear. Apart from a ding on the back of the back ( see pic) has only light marking consistent with playing. Had other tuners at one point but original ones are back on

1963 Hofner Senator Guitar in Blonde. Semi refurbished. Head stock was, as shown in one of the pics, in terrible state, so I made another head stock plate with Ebony and made new MOP inserts. (not pro but OK, and better than was ) I Made a scratch plate from some 50's plastic material, which works well. Binding is cracked through-out, I have inserted some replacements in places where missing, and checked the rest, so pretty strong now. Hofner Senator Neck 1953. This neck has been taken from a very old Senator, where the body was in very bad shape and can not be retrieved from death row. Its a great shame, as according to experts like the Steve Russel Hofner site, indicates that this guitar could have been one of the first to be imported by Selmer.
