1963 Hofner Senator bass. Lovely bass, has been well played, has the wear and tear you'd expect from a 62 year old vintage instrument which I've tried to capture in the photos
As is often the case with these models the neck heel has cracked at some time in the past and has been repaired
Some original parts were beyond repair and have been replaced to bring this lovely guitar up to giggable condition again:

Nice example of an old guitar , some slight wear to top, missing a few tiny screws on string compensator and truss rod cover .
Only one strap toggle .
Neck has slight relief , low action .
Not turned truss rod as I don??t have the correct tool .
New adagio strings , copper wound 10-47 .

Vintage floating bridge. The saddle part is from a late 1950s Hofner Senator President or Congress (maybe others). It is dark ebonized maple and marked 02 on the underside. The base is made of rosewood, so a lighter redder brown. The two parts don't exactly match, but they fit and work well

Hello and welcome to my listing

Right from the off i know nothing about hofners. With that this needs some work and i am very reluctant to do anything with no knowledge.

The neck pickup is loose i think missing the fastening bolt on one side.

The volume and tone pots are loose

And the nut is broken at the high e

However it still works so just needs some tlc and some knowledge, parts etc to bring it back to full strength

Up for sale is my beloved 1959 Hofner Senator. It's a gorgeous archtop guitar with wonderful tone and resonance. In the 50s, Hofner, Gretsch and Gibson reigned supreme in the Archtop / Jazz guitar space
The Senator is the slightly larger-bodied version of the parlour Jazz guitar, the Congress
The guitar is in fantastic condition for one of this age, and plays like a dream. The only damage is to the name badge, which is partly missing (see pictures)

1965 Hofner Senator, thinline cutaway blond. Outstanding condition with it's fitted Selmer case. The pickup has got weak over the years but I'll include the P90 I've been meaning to fit only at 79 I'm losing interest in my collection and need the extra bedroom. 1957 Hofner Senator "brunette" archtop electric guitar in good condition with period hard case. Early model with the rosewood bodied pickup and circular control panel. These pre-date the truss rod so the neck is pretty chunky and not ideal for speedy jazz players or shredders. .
The sunburst finish is in good condition with some weather checking but still shines up well and there's quite nice flame on the back. There is the common crack in the neck joint by the heel but it is solid. Three of ... more
