I tried finding an exact date by serial number, but was unable to find a good database. Partial serial # is E 1809x

Condition: Good
The exterior of this case does have a few dings in it: two along the ridge of the top mold, a slight crack on the front side, and one of the metal knob feet is caved in a bit. There is also a slight gap between the top and bottom in the back side when closed. See pictures for details.
All that being said, they are all minor flaws and this case functions perfectly and still looks awesome!

For sale today is a Ovation 1657 The Anniversary 1981 W / OHSC. It is in good condition for a 40yr old Ovation. Has 3 'ovation' finish cracks, and a bit of pick rash. Check pics, One of the cracks was hard to photo and is almost as hard to see in person. According to the ser# and my dating source this is a 1981. This ovation case has been around. It??s structurally sound. All hinges work. One hinge may have been reinforced with a rivet. Some of the black plastic decorative trim has peeled off but that doesn??t affect anything. All of the fasteners work as they should although there is no key for the one that locks

Rare and extremely well taken care of 1971 Ovation Eclipse 1235-5 J 161. These were Tornados that arrived with body finish that ovation didn??t approve, were repainted with what is believed to be acoustic inner paint from ovation and dubbed the ?eclipse??. Its a Semi-hollow electric guitar. black maple body with a rosewood fretboard, mother of pearl inlay. Unique sound, never modified. Made in Germany by Hofner, has the Hofner 513 blade pickups. This is an extremely rare opportunity to own an Ovation Adamas ll 1682-7 wide neck deep bowl model that is mainly only in private collections. The 1682 was especially produced for the German market and only a small number of the Adamas ll guitars from ca. 1979-1980 had the wider neck. The majority were the standard 1681 variety which can be seen in the listings

In good shape for it??s age apart from a tight vertical split to the front, running the whole length of the body. I??m sure a decent Luthier could repair this as it??s not massive damage, more of a cosmetic repair if required. It still sounds very good which would bear out the actual condition. 1979 Ovation Balladeer custom 1112 with the addition of a Fishman pickup
As with many Ovations it suffered shrinking of the top that has been well repaired, including internal cleats, and has been stable in my ownership
When not in use it has been kept in its Ovation gig bag with a hydrometer both of which are included in the sale
