I love the way this guitar looks and plays. I am selling it as I found it. A great looking Framus Classical from the 1960s is my guess on its age. Looks to be alot of mixture of wood here - spruce, mahogany and maybe some maple or Cedar. Hard for me to to sure what the Germans were using. I can tell you that it plays well, super low action. IT looks as though the headstock under went surgery. At some point long ago, someone put these Italian tuning mechanisms on it and had to re-drill the holes.... more

Very wonderful playing and sounding guitar from the 60's, and made brilliantly from Germany. The neck is slim and plays like a dream, and has tasteful striping in the wood grain. The pick-ups have a nice warm sound, yet still punchy, and the looks are just brilliant. The frets are in great shape, and the guitar as a whole is very solid. Interesting c. 1970 Framus Country and Western model dreadnought. Made in West Germany. Unusual in that it has a dovetail joint rather than the odd bolt-on neck more often seen here. Looks to have all original parts, but I don??t have any thumbwheels on the adjustable bridge. It??s all the way down, so it rests directly on the top (better for tone anyway). This listing is for a really cool Vintage 1960's Framus Strato Super Model 5 / 155 Vintage Electric Guitar. This guitar was made in Germany in the late 1960's. I would estimate it was made around 1966.
The guitar is in very nice cosmetic condition and is all original. The pickups and electronics are working however it's a little tricky to figure out exactly what all the switches are doing. Used vintage condition. Purchased at a sale where partystated it was fully functional. I did not test as I do not have the equipmentand knowledge to test. There is some rust Of the two long holes on the face the laminate that attaches to the wood showswhere it has disconnected for about 6 inches. This nifty creation from West Germany is a relatively rare version of an 8-string model. The company didn't make 8-string pickups at the time, so they bridged the strings with two 6-pole pickups. Unusual, but it works!
The steel is quite clean, as is the original hard case. Everything works as it should, and like Framus's guitars of the time, it has a bright and twangy sound.... more

Rare 1970s Framus 12 String Guitar Holds Tune Very Well
This was inherited, I recently fitted it with new strings and it stays in tune quite well for a 12 string. The machine heads were replaced at some point and there are a few cosmetic knicks

Hier kommt ein seltener original Framus von Schaller Tonabnehmersystem zum Verkauf, alles funktioniert Dabei ist: Montagehalter, wie zu sehen, Erdung für Tailpiece mit Klammer, Kabel Die normalen heutigen kabel sind ein zehntel mm zu dick für die alten Pulte, daher habe ich das Kabel leicht angeschliffen und schon passt es Viel Spass damit!
