This neck seems to look in okay shape. Has an overbow with the no strings on it. The truss rod does seem to work. Cosmetic condition shown in photos. I cannot gauruntee it will work properly. I don??t know much about this guitar but from what I can tell it??s pretty rare especially with the 5 tone switches. The swell knob works as well as the other tone controls. I??m not sure exactly how the 5 tone flip switches work but I know that they do work because the tone changes when I engage or disengage them in different combinations

This guitar is a fine player, but I confess it, it is a bit of a mystery
1. Guitar is branded CMC (or Clark Music Centers) and the only reference to Framus is the "Made in Germany" on the neck plate
2. "Made in Germany" instead of West Germany suggests 1960's
3. The guitar is smaller than a standard classical. Likely 3 / 4 sized, suggesting a student model, supported by the arched back to give this smaller instrument some volume. Quality of the finish suggests better grade than a Job... more

Up for sale is a very cool German made Framus Caravelle hollow body guitar from the late '60s. This model is rare in general, but this version with the painted on F holes and orange finish alá the Gretsch Nashville is not only painfully cool, but outrageously unusual. This is an affordable vintage guitar with just as much tone and charm as the expensive ones.

Obviously had the tuners changed over the years and the logo etc is worn but I have used it for a few projects and it has that old 60??s / 70??s 12 string sound , the action is low and it has great mojo .. From what Ive been able to find these guitars were made in Germany in the 50s and 60s, I'm not sure of the exact manufacturer but I've seen Hofner, Framus, and Kilra mentioned as possibilities. These guitars where imported to Britain and indorsed by Bert Weedon an at the time celebrated guitarist
