Vintage 1965 Kay USA Truetone Vanguard 302 Guitar Pancake Pickup. Has been tested and sounds great. Many Kay models use this same pickup. This is from the bridge position but can also be used in the neck or middle position. Numerous fine play scratches (please see photos). A few deeper scratches. Here it is folks!! Here??s that bridge cover for your Silvertone 1413 that you??ve been looking for all those years to complete your restoration. Check out the pictures. It??s in very good shape, near excellent. The arrows are looking pretty nice too. No rust or pitting. Comes with two mounting screws. Kay Vanguard guitar early 60s vintage old kraftsman pretty much all there and functioning I took it apart cleaned the pots in the front pickup volume does not work so I'm guessing the front pickup volume pot needs to be replaced bridge is intact except for the tremolo arm frets show discoloration from the strings however not gouged they are worn however this guitar was played very cool old guitar I would keep it but I've got another one almost exactly like it

Super cool vintage iconic guitar from 1963! This guitar is in better condition than most 63 year old instruments! Very light finish wear on edges of body and a few minor dings but no cracks, etc
Guitar has been refurbished including thoroughly cleaning body, fretboard, electronics. Guitar has been setup with moderately low measuring .080- 090 at 15th fret. Trussrod is functional and adjusted for appropriate relief.

Kay Vanguard Truetone 1960s. This guitar sounds and plays good. All original with the exception of two extra pots that were added to the pickguard. They are not hooked up. The two bottom knobs are dummy knobs just to fill the holes that were added. This was just rewired properly with one volume and one tone. A very cool find, 1960s Silvertone badged Kay Vanguard II which has been modded and refretted. Plays great, rich resonant tone and sustain and stays in tune too When I got this it was pretty sad, frets filed flat slipping / missing tuners and a tremolo that knocked the strings out of tune when you even looked at it. And the nitro finish flaking and peeling off the neck every time you touched it
I have given the neck a partial respray using nitrocellulose lacquer and replaced the headstock ... more
