Here we have a vintage Fender Reverb from 1963! This one features a blonde tolex wrap with a wheat grill and a flat logo. It is in very good condition, having survived nicely all of these years. The control panel has input and output jacks, as well as a Dwell, Mixer, and Tone controls. However, it has two distinctive tiny holes about 1-5 / 8" apart on the back headstock below the tuners which once likely secured a typical Valco serial number plate. So, my best guess it was likely built by Valco in Chicago, Illinois. Serial No 1592 dates this guitar to 1963 as shown on the Verithin Register This is an original German built Verithin model, imported by Selmer and then fitted with a Bigsby. A very rare opportunity to purchase what is a 'Holy Grail' amp to many and also the identical model to that which Mark Knopfler played 'Sultans of Swing' on - a 1963 Fender Vibrolux
Fender produced these only between 1961-63, with the 'Brownface' series amps following the 'tweed' period, just before they started using black tolex. The very best, in my opinion.
