I bought this 1972 Les Paul Deluxe cherry sunburst serial # 681234 in 1989 in S California (I returned to UK in 2022). It is unusual, and very rare, in having an 'extra' pearl trapezoid inlay at the first fret. I contacted Gibson who confirmed it was a non-standard, custom order, but could give me no further information as their records don't go back that far. Guitar made in 1980 in Nashville when Gibson worked with a quality that is now difficult to find. Please look closely at the photos, the Les Paul Pro is a Standard with Ebony fretboard and the famous P90s, picking all the resonance and sustain of this 45 years old wood. 70's mid-narrow neck with wide and flat original frets of this period, low action on this fast neck. Very good condition for a 48 year old guitar, with just the common signs of wear, blemishes and lacquer checking as you'd expect for a 48 year old guitar (see pics). Some buckle rash to the rear which is barely visible unless bouncing light onto the surface we we've done in the photographs. It's had a recent pro refret (barely noticeable as nibs still intact).
