This is a 1958 5F8 Tweed Twin chassis. Serial #A00053
Obviously, its pretty rough, but it works, and it screams.
When I got it (chassis only), it had been neglected for years and was a mess. It needed a full cap job, new 3 prong cable, fuse holder, a few of the pots replaced, 1 input jack, the rectifier socket, and little bit of wiring cleanup work.

The pickups on this guitar are not the original pickups, the pickups are Custom Shop Seymour Duncan Antiquities that were put in more recently. Aside from the pickup switch, everything underneath the pickguard has been replaced.

This Vintage 1958 Silvertone (Made by Harmony) H61 Hollowbody Electric Guitar is in very good condition. This guitar is in great condition with very little wear. There are a few light scuffs and swirl marks on the body but clean overall, with the most notable wear being some scratches on the pickguard. Otherwise, there is no other cosmetic damage to make note of aside from some superficial scratches associated with normal play and use. Overall, this is a great sounding and playing guitar

The chassis code is ??HE?? which dates it to May 1958. The speakers are original - two date to 1957 (220746) and two are from 1958 (220811). The speakers were re-coned in Memphis in 2006. This amp was recently serviced and is in excellent working condition. Most of the internal parts are original to my knowledge, but please check the photos for part number codes. An old pair of 1958 Potentiometers. Likely from a national, harmony, or kay guitar. Solid shaft, and will work for a Fender telecaster. One pot reads 474 K (It's a 500 K pot), and the other reads 112 K (It's a 100 K pot). made by Stackpole, the codes are 304 8 48, so they are made in the 48th week of 1958. the capacitor looks cracked and it's not soldered on one end. It has the earliest serial number I??ve seen on a double cutaway Les Paul Junior.
The pick up may have been rewound as the solder joint looks re-done. The pots have 1957 date codes.

Restored about 12 years ago in California. This Bass has had quiet a few changes including a professional re-finish to the body and a pro re-fret. This vintage Hofner President archtop guitar is being sold for a friend whose husband owned it before he passed.
Crafted in 1958, it still rings nicely, especially with the Hofner compensator holding the ball end of the strings. Please look carefully at the pictures as the D string strip is slightly bent - but has little impact on tone.

This is a wonderful, original 1958 Hofner President guitar in natural wood. It's one of the earliest ones you'll find and in wonderful condition, complete with a non-original hard case.
