A stunner of a Jazzer from Yamaha. A lot of people say 'No good guitars came out of Japan until 1976', these people clearly haven't seen Yamaha's output in the 60's and early 70's!

1965 Dobro D40 manufactured in the Gardena factory in California during the last period when the company was under Dopyera family control
Fair condition for age. There have been issues with the side veneers but they are now stable. The internal structure has not been affected as shown by the internal photos
Unusually the cover plate has 3 lines of holes in the 'arches' rather than the usual 2. This is because the factory used cover plates left over from the 'fiddle edged' Dobros

Bought in 2009 from a pawn shop in New Orleans, this guitar has been maintained in a smoke free environment ever since. It is in excellent condition, as close to its original state as one might hope for. It has only very minor blemishes (see photos) as you??d expect from normal wear and tear over 50+ years. A killer late 80's Aria Pro II. By the end of the 80's Aria Pro II switched some of it's production from the Matsumoku factory to Tokai Gakki - these Tokai built Aria's were only sold domestically in Japan and are generally slept on by the Japanese guitar enthusiasts

Your guess is as good as mine unless you have information. I was unable to find out anything about this box so I'll have to speculate. Obviously, it is built by Eko but under the Troubadour label. The removable neck, adjustable saddle and, tank like, build quality are indicative of the Eko brand. A similar pick guard shape to the KD28, although this one is a replacement made by me for the damaged original, is also evidence. As normal for me, I stripped it all down to i'ts parts. A vintage and rare Suzuki No 6. It's a great little parlour guitar!Lots of lacquer crazing and patina, so I assume it's 1960s but I cannot find a serial number anywhere. I have included a close up of the label if this helps !Quite a small body like a parlour guitar (or OO size?) and nylon strung with bone bridge pins.
