This is an early Kay Value Leader, 2 pickup electric guitar. My guess is it??s either 1960 or ??61
I purchased in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland

Very cool piece picked up at estate sale been in storage many decades untouched. All the electronics work and sounds great. It is missing 2 knobs as you can see. Very solid lightweight guitar. I did not try and clean it up I will leave that up to the new owner. View pictures for more details. Comes with nice padded gigbag. Thanks

Just in at Tone Chasers Music is this 1960 Kay Value Leader. This guitar is in very good condition with the pictured dings, scuffs, and scratches being the most significant signs of wear and is in great playing shape with plenty of room on the bridge. The pictured gigbag is included. Tested, functional, and as pictured.

Kay Value Leader - 3 pickup model (early 1960's, I think)
Very cool model, with three Kay pancake / Zippo pickups
Metal scratchplate still retains most of it's etched checkered pattern
The original brass frets were heavily worn and the nut and bridge string spacing were far too narrow for the width of the fretboard
I had an expert luthier re-fret the guitar with nickel-silver frets, and a new nut was made and new slots cut on the wooden saddle.
