It's very rare to see anything other than a Doubleneck from this period of time with this checkerboard purfling / binding. The clear coat finish has turned very yellow and a previous owner removed most of the clear coat from the top of the body, bringing out the exposed white color of the paint from underneath the clear coat. ... more

What you're looking at here is an ultra-rare double-bound Rickenbacker 4005 WB in natural Maple. I believe they call this "Mapleglo " ? It is basically the gloss varnished wood finish

Here we have a 1977 Rickenbacker 4001 in Mapleglo finish
This bass plays and sounds like what it is, an icon of the bass world! It is the best I have ever played with its stereo output to really scope your tone and that classic Ricky sound that is so distinctive.
