What we have here is an extremely rare example of an orginal Matsumoko built Epiphone Crestwood Wilshire ET-290N. Note that If the Epiphonewiki website info is correct, these models are Wilshires, built between 1975 and 1979.
The bad:

Epiphone ET278 Wilshire Made in Japan
Although over 50 years old, this early 70s ET278 is in good condition for it's age. There are scuffs and scratches to the Wilshire-shape body and the metal parts are a little tarnished. However, the 3-piece maple neck, headstock and rosewood fingerboard are in good condition
Although fitted with a tremelo system, I do not have the arm and cover. However, replacements can be bought online

EPIPHONE 1966 Worn Wilshire Reissue very rare 2 knob version
I bought this used for £470 a few years ago as I was fascinated by the fact it had a single tone and volume knob each. I have looked everywhere for any information about the 2 knob version and even contracted both epiphone and Gibson. eventually they told me that a few 2 knob versions were made for trade shows but were unable to tell me by my serial if this was one of them
