Here is a beautiful example of a great solid Vintage P-bass! Tunes excellent, action is very low, plenty of life on the frets! This thing plays and feels beautifully! This is a well preserved 1975 Fender precision bass guitar that i believe when it was new it was in the color white and now over the years it has conformed to the yellow petina. This is a very nice 1979 fender Precision bass In Antigua. The serial number and pots date to 1979, but pickups are 1980 so technically a 1980 with the S9 serial number which is common. S9 went from 1979 to 1982 ish. It's a rare fretless maple neck version. The base is super clean with only a few minor scratches and dings as shown. I have owned this bass since 1986. I bought it at a pawn shop in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Since then it has gigged once. In 2013. Otherwise it has been in my home studio getting played very occasionally. It's in really excellent condition especially for an instrument this old. The serial number indicates that it was made in 1978, some years after his Deviants period. Up for sale is a 1977 Fender USA Precision Bass Guitar
If you are after a mint example then this will not be for you , this one has various dings ,scuffs from being used for the last 45+ years but looks to be all original - see photos .
You can see why it has been played , sounds amazing and unlike a lot of Fenders from this period is a very good weight at just under 4kg .

This is a great original bass from late 1965.
Bass shows typical wear for a 60 year old instrument. Some checking in finish (see photos) minor nicks and a couple of paint chips in the lower horn. The neck is beautiful and action is low. Ashtray and pickup covers included. Stackpole pots are dated correctly and appear original. Pickup is original. Neck is stamped as Nov 5th 1965. Fender Precision, olympic white, made in USA 1978. If you're going to buy a P, why not do it properly, right? This creamy character has seen a few things over the decades, but it's aged pretty gracefully overall. The neck is on the fat side, but it balances nicely against the lightweight body and sits in the hand nicely. It's halfway between a C and a V profile, which sounds odd, but feels great in the hands.
