1976 4001 in rare color (Azure Glo). Serial number PC 1526. Comes with hard shell case. Bass plays and sounds great. There are a few nics on the top edge of headstock and back of the neck, and a larger ding by the input jack also shown. None affect sound or playability and the front of the guitar is in great shape. There is some fret wear, but has plenty of life left.

This bass plays and sounds like what it is, an icon of the bass world! It is the best I have ever played with its stereo output to really scope your tone and that classic Ricky sound that is so distinctive. It is in very condition for a bass of this age with acceptable wear throughout. There is a an area of missing lacquer that points to this being a well used but loved instrument

Vintage 1984 early 4003 model Rickenbacker in Jetglow. That classic Ric image. This is the split pic guard model which denotes the introduction of the new 4003 model as the earlier 4001s were being phased out of production. An original 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 in Jetglo. The scratchplate has been sprayed black (it is white underneath), and the electrics were customised by Robbie Gladwell in the early 80s. One input works passive, the other as active. Both pickups and all of the controls work fine. Other than this it looks very original, lovely stylish tuners, knobs, pickups etc
Lots of bumps and marks as expected on a 50+ year old icon, but nothing major or structural. Proper age wear, no fake relics here. Please... more

This bass has been played! Lots of wear and tear but it feels great in the hand - everything has smoothed out and it instantly feels comfortable
At some point in its life some thug has put heavy string on so there is bridge lift. I put it back on D'Addario Half Rounds as they have a nice low tension and it has not bothered me
