This is one of two left-handed Gibson SG Custom guitars ever produced in this configuration. In May of 1968 two of these SG Customs shipped from the Gibson factory. Right from the start we have an incredibly rare axe.
Also In 1968, Jimi Hendrix was at a jam at Ungano's in New York. He was playing with Elvin Bishop and B B. King. He was playing a left-handed Pelham Blue Gibson SG Custom with a Bigsby.

In 1969 I was very fortunate to see Jimi Hendrix in Nuerenburg, Germany He played a Strat for all songs except for Red house when he went behind hisamps and came back playing a white Gibson SG Custom. Wow!! I had never such abeautiful guitar! I had to have one. Living in Germany it took 3 months forshipment from the States (which is a very long time for a 16-year old). Ok, the bad stuff first. It has had Grover tuners installed. It is missing a fretboard marker which is an easy fix, I just can't find another marker that I'm happy with the look of. The original lightning bolt bridge is long gone and has been replaced with a Music City Bridge which is as good as it gets. This is a bit of a strange guitar. I think it started out as a white Special that was converted to two humbuckers. I got it in poor condition about 25 years ago and refinished with tung oil and Behlen's musical Instrument lacquer. It looks like someone routed out the middle and put a piece of wood in then routed for humbuckers. They did a good job looks like routed from factory. Previously owned vintage 1987 Gibson SG red elecric guitar. Its serial number 82577540 and made in the USA. This serial number dates it back to being manufactured 9 / 14 / 1987. 1970-71 Gibson SG standard
It??s got mojo!!!
Ok, so the guitar came to me as a complete body and neck, no parts at all, the finish had been stripped, and a heal repair had been done.
I strung it up and let it hang for a few months to see if the repair was stable as I??d not repaired it.
On releasing it was I decided to source all the parts and re build it.
Using nitro black paint I prepped, painted and polished the guitar.

Dates to 1972 / 3 based on spec, as you will know the serials are vague. The guitar is the SGIII, which was top of the range and rare, with only 1000 ever being produced as a test bed for newer models. Only a few were made in cherry sunburst too.

She is in amazing condition for the age, with just a few marks mainly on the neck rear and lacquer checking on rear of body contour.

This is a Yamaha SG 300 double cutaway made in Japan between 1982-86 It has a mahog solid body . The slim set neck is also mahog with a rosewood fingerboard The finish is a gloss burgundy red. There is a however a mottled cloudy pattern behind the gloss which has appeared faintly I think this must have been caused by being in a case for many years without one of those moisture sapping bags inside Other than that the guitar is in perfect condition. Hatte sie als Sammler vor vielen Jahren erworben, aber nie wirklich damit gespielt. Ich habe sie heute ausprobiert, der Switch-Schalter hat einen Wackelkontakt. Ansonsten funktioniert alles. 1985 Gibson SG Standard, left-handed. Small block inlay model
The body has the less bevelled edge and the unusual construction where the neck pickup sits right at the end of the fretboard.
There is plenty of natural wear and lacquer checking, especially on the headstock   No breaks or cracks
There are some filled holes in the top and headstock that look to have come from a past Kahler install.
