This is a prewar Rickenbacher D12 (double 6) lap steel in very good condition. Both bakelite necks that are mounted to the cast body are in perfect condition with the number 21 stamped in the top edge of each headstock. The original tuners work well. The 1 1 / 2 inch prewar horseshoe pickups are beefy and growly. This is a very nice example of a vintage Gretsch lap Steel.

As far as I can tell it is from May 1964. Minor cosmetic blemishes here and there, but overall in very good shape.

The tuners have been replaced. The original Klusen deluxe tuners still work but the plastic peg heads disintegrated.

My first Hawaiian guitar was from the Sears catalog in 1959??in 1961 I got a Fender double neck Stringmaster. Then in 1963, with the British Invasion, I switched to bass guitar. It wasn??t until 1995 I started playing the steel guitar again with this guitar. The stickers are still on it, it??s how I learned to play in A6th tuning. I've got a very nice clean 1955 Gibson Century Lap Steel in its original and rare blue finish. This finish is somewhere between a blue and green but it's listed as blue.
