Vintage 1930s Kalamazoo KG-31 archtop acoustic guitar made by Gibson. This 1930s KG-31 has a bound neck and a bound pickguard and is 100% original. The old Kluson tuners work pretty well considering their age; the D an G string tuner knob shafts are bent. The Brazilian rosewood bridge is set as low as it will go. 1958 Gibson ES-125 Full Deep Body Vintage Archtop Electric Sunburst!
Here is a very nice honest late 1950s Gibson ES-125 with the thick body. Chunky full neck. Everything is original on the guitar except for the strap buttons. It's got a really nice faded sunburst finish. All finish is original. No repairs or breaks anywhere. This 1970 Gibson Barney Kessel is one of only three confirmed examples I know of that has all solid wood construction, featuring a solid carved spruce top and a solid carved, flamed maple back. others being a 1965 BK Standard and a 1968 BK Custom. This 1965 Gibson L-48 represents the entry level Gibson acoustic archtop. Despite this, these guitars can have a really nice sound, and this one certainly does. With a mahogany top, the sound is certainly different than the usual spruce top guitars. Its not quite as bold and punchy as spruce with less mid focus. This listing is for a Vintage Gibson Archtop Guitar Pickguard. The pickguard was marked as coming off a 194 Gibson L4-C but this was in a large collection of parts so we cannot confirm that. The pickguard is modified and has been notched for a pickup. As best I can tell this pickguard would have originally come with a L4-C, L5-C or L7-C amount other models and appears be made in the sometime in 1940's 1950's or early 1960's. 1939 Gibson L-7. Classic, vintage archtop guitar with the sound that will bring you back to the 30's. Sounds fantastic. No cracks, finish looks great, so does the binding. Classic piece, no modifications that I am aware of except likely a new pick guard (to be expected) and maybe end pin. Some minor nitro-webbing does occasionally occur near the pickguard, but only seems to appear during low humidity. Fabulous guitar, freshly fitted with Gibson light gauge 80 / 20 Bronze wrapped strings
It took a bit of digging to find the serial numbered date (a complicated system of numbering evolution), the result is "made in Kalamazoo in 1950"
The action is really good, the manufacture is amazing for a 75 year old and after several hours of cleaning it is coming up with nice patinated glossy finish
