This guitar was found in the basement of a closed down music store in rough condition. The celluloid pick guard had melted and dripped onto and bubbled the finish, the celluloid binding was badly cracked and falling off, the original nut was missing, and the neck had a crack near the headstock. A lot of work went into repairing and restoring it to its current, very playable state. 60's Epiphone acoustic made in the Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. Refinished. Fretboard extension is detached at the 14th fret, though it has been glued in place. Bridge seems to have been replaced at some point. Neck reset was started but never completed. Pickguard is missing, Headstock logo has been painted over. On offer is a vintage early 1970's Japan-import Epiphone Dreadnaught Acoustic FT-145 Texan guitar project. The Serial # is a six digit sequence and is '440586'. The exact dating of Japanese Epiphones is somewhat uncertain but this guitar has the early Blue label inside the soundhole as described in the following extract, with 'Made in Japan' printed on the label, indicating the guitar was made between 1972 and 1975
