Up for sale is a 1980 Alvarez 5021 12 String in its original natural finish. This guitar sounds MASSIVE with all the jangle you could ever dream of. This one came to us in the cosmetic condition you would expect from an instrument of this age. It does have scattered scratches and impressions all around the instrument. It should be noted that there is a bit of bellying near the bridge and the neck angle is showing that it will need a neck reset at some point in the future. It does play well ... more

I purchased this guitar in about 2013. It has served me well over the years as a really cool vintage ??beater?? Dreadnaught, not because I would beat it up, but because it is made pretty sturdy by Japanese builders, and it already had some of the dings and nicks that you can see from the photos. 1980s alvarez 5025 made in Japan. great condition for a 40 year old guitar. Frets have plenty of life left, neck angle is great (no need for a neck reset). Sounds great with upgraded bone saddle with plenty of material remaining for a adjustment if you desire but it plays great the way it is. Neck is medium thick with a slight V shape. Very comfortable. Strung up with Martin Retro light strings
There's a few blemishes and nicks around the guitar, please look at the photos very carefully.... more

This is a beautiful vintage Alvarez case that is thinner than the average acoustic guitar case. It??s only 4 inches wide when shut. I??m assuming that it is intended for use with an electric guitar or a thin line acoustic guitar. It is rare as there are no other ones that I can find anywhere. Vintage 1976 Alvarez model 5024 "Dove" Acoustic Guitar with Case. It was made in Japan and can use some TLC.

The original tuners have been swapped out with Grovers (see pics), the pick guard needs attention / re-glued and the bridge was screwed down (see pics) at some point so it needs attention / repair as well.

This Vintage 1976 Alvarez Yairi DY57 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar is in very good condition. It does show some wear from honest play over the years including various dings and scratches on the body and headstock, a larger ding on the bottom side of the top, and some pick wear around the soundhole (see pictures).
