Subway guitars is pleased to offer yet another cool '70s Fender bass. This one is a maple neck P-bass, all original except for the DiMarzio pickup which was a very popular upgrade at the time. I bought this 1974 Fender Stratocaster in 1992 in California from Randy Seton, the name stencilled on the case, and brought it with me when I returned to UK in 2022. I think it was originally white but has been refinished in Dakota Red. When I unscrewed the neck (first time since I've had it) to get the serial numbers, there was some red paint stuck to it. I have had this for years and frankly don't recall precisely which bass it came from. Has some wear as to be expected from a 50+ year old part, but generally in pretty good shape. Reads 9 98K. 1974 SG45 in very used condition . the pickups have been changed, there were holes in the top (by the controls) which have been filled in, and the head had a twist split at some point which has been glued. The good points are original tailpiece, knobs, tuners and plates, and the frets are in decent shape so it is nice to play. The electrics work although the tone controls don't change very much.
