This Guild X-350 was made in the original Guild factory in Manhattan, largely by craftsman who had come over from Epiphone following a strike at the factory there. Guild was founded near the end of 1952 and this guitar was made in 1953, the first year of this model. This 1953 Gibson ES-175 is in all original condition, except for a replaced pickguard mounting bracket and one replaced mounting screw for the dogear. It's NOW TIME!! The sad day I have to let this go. The seriel number dates the guitar to 1953. It plays great, the neck is smooth and easy to navigate. The tuning pegs are excellent, but I would replace the pegs. I bought the guitar from a Blue grass Guitar shop in Asheville NC in 2011. It feels great to play it and it sounds like heaven. Here is a very rare early solid body guitar. This is a Valco made Supro Ozark that is Oahu branded (these were identical guitars branded Supro, National, Oahu and likely others). Rare to see this guitar branded as an Oahu.
Condition is excellent for a 73 year old instrument with a few chips to pearloid covering. Any loose covering has been reglued. Much better shape than most these and appears it was lightly played during its life.

Unbelievable find!! Everything works perfectly (including projector), has original tubes and covers. There are a few extras, like the projector arms, take-up reel, spare bulbs and springs (see pics). I've cleaned up the covers, which have light discoloration from age, but it's super clean on the inside and functions perfectly as a guitar amp (see video). This was the 40th Hofner Committee to be imported into the UK (serial number 2040) the body is pencil dated 20 10 1953. It has been confirmed as being either a late 1953 or early 1954 import.
Sadly this was part of my dad??s proud collection but unfortunately I??m a left halthough a tough decision, it would be a shame for me to keep it, especially as it is a very playable guitar with great action and tone. White perloid-covered non-cutaway body with bolt on neck.
