Up for sale, a 1953 Gibson Les Paul Standard, featuring an ??All Gold?? nitro lacquer refinish and complete with a vintage hardshell case. It??s not every day you find an early Les Paul Goldtop under a kitchen table in a haunted house in the Texas Hill Country, but on the off chance that one does, it??s a guitar worth restoring in all its glory. Early- to mid-1950s Kay K-22 jumbo flat top acoustic. Solid spruce top, with back and sides of laminated mahogany. Ladder braced. Bridge was totally mangled (brass bolts / nuts had started to pull up from excess tension) but replaced with an NOS Kay bridge from the same era. Slight and stable risen areas on the top behind the anchor bolts, but I contoured the new bridge over these for better fit. Very minor. Available here is a true players classic. This guitar is a 1953 Epiphone Zephyr Regent Deluxe upgraded with 1957 Guild single coil pick ups. From what we know, this modification was done by Epiphone in the late 50s.

Really nice early to mid-1950s Silvertone acoustic archtop. Solid spruce top, with maple back and sides. Looks to be the equivalent of a Harmony Broadway or Monterey. All original parts except tuners, which are 100% period-correct vintage parts. Excellent neck set and angle, and fretboard is perfectly flat (which is not always the case with older archtops). It's NOW TIME!! The sad day I have to let this go. The seriel number dates the guitar to 1953. It plays great, the neck is smooth and easy to navigate. The tuning pegs are excellent, but I would replace the pegs. I bought the guitar from a Blue grass Guitar shop in Asheville NC in 2011. It feels great to play it and it sounds like heaven. This Guild X-350 was made in the original Guild factory in Manhattan, largely by craftsman who had come over from Epiphone following a strike at the factory there. Guild was founded near the end of 1952 and this guitar was made in 1953, the first year of this model. This was so early in production that it comes before some of the custom logo parts were in place which is why the original pickgard on this guitar consists of multi-ply black-white plastic rather than the solid black Guild logo ... more

If this were a car it would be called a barn find. I purchased this piece 35 years ago but never got around to bringing it up to final quality. The parts are all here also the dust. The strings need to replaced. The tuners are ok. The electric when plugged in works. The volume control might need tweaking but you can control volume from the amplifier. Unbelievable find!! Everything works perfectly (including projector), has original tubes and covers. There are a few extras, like the projector arms, take-up reel, spare bulbs and springs (see pics). I've cleaned up the covers, which have light discoloration from age, but it's super clean on the inside and functions perfectly as a guitar amp (see video). I know there are mods that people do on these, but I love it exactly the way it is. It would be a shame to chop it up, since everything is... more

This was the 40th Hofner Committee to be imported into the UK (serial number 2040) the body is pencil dated 20 10 1953. It has been confirmed as being either a late 1953 or early 1954 import.
Sadly this was part of my dad??s proud collection but unfortunately I??m a left halthough a tough decision, it would be a shame for me to keep it, especially as it is a very playable guitar with great action and tone. Mah gany back and sides, spruce top.
Typical 50s V profile mah gany neck with a nice r sewood fingerboard.
The guitar has had a re-fret at some stage and the frets are in good condition overall
and show minimal to no sign of pitting and wear.
The fingerboard does show some pitting. R sewood bridge and bone saddle.
