It's first 15 years saw stage use mostly local gigs from home to stage back to home The other 30 years it's been a studio diva. I'm the second owner. I purchased in 1985 Everything works. That extra hole in the electronics cover baffles me. The electronics appear to beall original. See pics of electronics. Here??s my 1984 stingray - I??ve had since new. The paintwork started to peel off a while back. At the time, MM were experimenting with finishes; this one, unfortunately, didn??t bond well. (It was the only colour of this kind to be imported to the UK - I know because I worked for the importer!)
I didn??t want to refin it??so it??s been left to peel
Despite the looks, this bass plays like a dream. Super low action (if you like that sort of thing), even with 45-105??s.

This is an all-original walnut Stingray from 1978 in a walnut finish. It has a an epoxy-coated preamp with two-band EQ. It??s strung through the body with adjustable dampers on the bridge (currently off) and the serial number is B007348.
This has plenty signs of natural road-wear - the nitro finish has worn through to the wood on the bottom and top edges and there is general wear consummate with age (see pics). The front is still pretty good though and the neck face and frets are in great ... more
