This is an original 1916 C F. Martin Bowl Back Mandolin. It has all of it's original parts and is plays beautifully. Makers mark with location (Nazareth, Pennsylvania) is stamped on a chrome plate at the very top back.
The neck is made from Mahogany and the lower section has been pieced together with Adirondack Spruce, Maple and Rosewood. The tuning knobs are made from Pearloid and the pick guard is beautifully inlayed with Tortoise shell.

For sale an original late 60s-early 70s Martin thermoplastic 'steal me' case, so named for the big Martin logo front and centre
It is just too small for a dreadnought, but way too large for a parlour - as such I've deduced it's a case for a 000 series model (not a D-anything).
It is in decent used condition - all latches function, all 'feet' (both plastic and metal) are all present. There is the odd slight crack, but nothing causing any structural difficulties
