Structurally in good order no splits cracks on guitar, couple of very light chips to the back of the body

Guitar is in as found unrestored condition could be embellished with some polish.

A lovely Kimbara 6 string acoustic dreadnought,   crafted in Korea in the 70's by this well respected manufacturer.
A few scuffs in keeping with its vintage age, it plays very nicely and projects very well  . Very well built and sweet sounding .
Kimbara is a brand name used by FCN England for many guitars imported in the 70's . They used the top end makers of the far east and are very well thought of by players and collectors alike. They have a strong following .

Beautiful condition Japanese built Kimbara Les Paul. Matsumoku built - in great condition with it's original case. 5 piece neck, and mahog body with 2 piece patterned maple cap. Lovely light colour - no sun damage. Gold hardware is tarnished and fading. There are about 3 small bits of grazing / chips on the back edge, one on the real point of the bout, but none if it visible at the front. MMK Matsumoku humbucker pickups. I doubt you will find a 1970s Kimbara in better condition than this one. There is a small piece of white paint missing from the horn and two small dings at the very bottom obviously from connection with a guitar rack or some such thing. Apart from these small marks it is perfect. Lovely white colour. The Kimbara is an early example of excellence in early Japanese guitars. Good price.... more

Here is a beautiful Japanese classical made in 1977 by Suzuki Violin Co. branded 'Kimbara' for UK export. The model 25 / Z was one of the top models of the year. Spec'd with Jacaranda (Brazilian Rosewood), cedar top, butterfly rosette and GoToh tuners
Suzuki made a solid top version of this guitar and a double plate version (two pieces of bonded solid wood, for crack resistance) and as you can see from the rear photo, this one is double plate. Sounds great and was one of my first purchases ... more

Is it perfect ? No, it??s 45 years old and has some minor marks on the front and a small chip on the head ( see photos )
Is there any major damage ? No, apart from the minor dings already mentioned, it is in good condition for its age , no cracks or splits etc
Machine heads ?? all working well, nice and firm and in good condition
Does it need new strings ? Definitely, the strings are old, dull and toneless, but, I??d rather keep the price as it is rather than put new strings on, ... more

Here is my Kimbara guitar
Made in Japan in the 1970s
What distinguishes it are the brass nut, brass pins and beautifully carved bridge
Even the pick guard is sculpted, not flat
It has the quality of an early Japanese guitar. All the fret work is perfect and fine the neck is straight the action nice
There isn??t a lot online about these guitars. But this is an early Japanese model and from playing it it feels like one of its higher quality makes
