This is a nice Hofner copy of the Beatle Bass Paul used. We believe it to be a Univox or Teisco 1960's. Electronics all work however the tone just has a little static noise when you turn it volume works great and so does the tone other than that drop of static while turning (probably a very good electronics cleaning is in order). 1967 all original Vintage Hofner Bass. POT is from '67 The 147 denotes either the made in the 14th week or some say take the 14 divide by 2 and it tells you the month. The 7 denotes the year. It's an authentic hofner potentiometer. Theres 972 etched in the bottom of feet board and is the number of guitar made that year in 1967, not the number of that particular model but number of total guitars that came out of the Hofner factory. Surprisingly clean example of a '60s (or '70s?) Japanese viola bass. The action gets high as you go up the fretboard despite the saddles being bottomed out. Neck looks straight. I gave the truss a little turn in each direction but was wary of going too far. Not sure whether it needs a neck reset, shim, or to just have the bridge filed down. Frets are excellent. The 500 / 1 bass was conceived in 1955 by Hofner Co. president Walter Hofner who believed a violin shaped bass would be easy to manufacturer along side of his existing double bass production line. It featured a symmetrical violin style design, was very light weight, had good playability and a was offered at a reasonable price. Selling for a friend's estate, a very nice 1967 (fairly certain) Hofner "Beatle" Bass. No damage or repairs; the body is nice with some amount of "lacquer checking" on the front, along with a bit of wear on the left side of the pickups. Neck is very nice, no issues, sealed original tuners. Small stick-on fret markers added to the side, easily removed if desired. Very few nicks or other surface issues. Zum Verkauf steht ein alter Höfner Bass, mutmaßlich das Modell 182. Der Tonabnehmer in der Halsposition ist, wie man auf den Bildern erkennen kann, kein Bass-PU, sondern ein original alter Höfner 511 "Staple" Gitarren PU, der aber auch als Bass PU tadellos funktioniert. Außerdem fehlt bei einem Knopf die goldene Kappe. Es ist eine eigenartige Besaitung drauf, Saiten sollte an also auf jeden Fall wechseln.
