For 60 years of age it is in remarkable condition. There are some scratches, in fact quite a few all around the body. Cosmetic and with the nicely darkened laquer they give the instrnent this wonderfull patina. Around the side srew of the pick guard is a little touched up area and on the backside bottom edge where the ornamentel inlay ends is a tiny patch of dopped out laquer. This was the 40th Hofner Committee to be imported into the UK (serial number 2040) the body is pencil dated 20 10 1953. It has been confirmed as being either a late 1953 or early 1954 import.
Sadly this was part of my dad??s proud collection but unfortunately I??m a left halthough a tough decision, it would be a shame for me to keep it, especially as it is a very playable guitar with great action and tone. Good condition Hofner Flaminco guitar. Circa 1961. I purchased this guitar from an elderly gentleman. He was given this guitar by his uncle sixty years ago. He had the intention of learning to play , but never did . So this lovely guitar has sat in its soft case for sixty years . While not 'mint' it has no wear on the frets , the tuners are original and undamaged. The serial number is 3875 and is written in ink by hand . I'm aware that this guitar is worth more . I did briefly see this guitar strung up and the action seemed a bit high and there is obvious seperation between the neck heel original joint.
