Up for auction is a rare original '64 / '65 vintage SG Pickguard. This was originally a Standard guard which was cut for a Custom 3 pickup SG model w / top portion removed (See pics). Features the Wide Bevel and has cool original playwear and patina (see pics). Although this has been modified this can easily be used to restore either SG model with a little know how.

The screen printing has worn off this set, although you can still clearly see the "volume and tone" imprints if you look closely. One tone knob has a chip in the rim. Still functional - but we have discounted this set and priced accordingly due to this.

Up for sale, a 1974 Gibson SG Custom in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A great example of the ?70s iteration of the Custom platform, this SG features a trio of Tarback humbuckers and a gloss Walnut nitro lacquer finish.
This SG Custom has plenty of natural warmth and midrange growl on tap, and the original trio of "Tarback" humbuckers have a different magnet structure and fewer winds than the T Tops produced in the same era. ... more

Wow!! I had never such abeautiful guitar! I had to have one. Living in Germany it took 3 months forshipment from the States (which is a very long time for a 16-year old). This is one of two left-handed Gibson SG Custom guitars ever produced in this configuration. In May of 1968 two of these SG Customs shipped from the Gibson factory. Right from the start we have an incredibly rare axe.
Also In 1968, Jimi Hendrix was at a jam at Ungano's in New York. He was playing with Elvin Bishop and B B. King. He was playing a left-handed Pelham Blue Gibson SG Custom with a Bigsby.
